I believe in the importance of the public school system, which should......
Empower Parents
Parents are responsible for their children's education. Therefore, parents are the primary customers of the Fairfax County School System and should be treated as such.
Enable Teachers
If teachers are to be held accountable, they must be provided with proven curriculum, the training and tools required to successfully teach all students.
Enhance Students' Futures
Students' education must be grounded in the core skills of reading, writing, mathematics, history and science/technology. Promoting students when they have not mastered the skills of their grade level is harmful to their education and ultimately their future. Computer skills are crucial, but should not replace skills in spelling, grammar, performing basic mathematical computations and handwriting.
